Sorely disappointed.
Good day to you Mr. Llewellyn and/or his assistant. I am writing to voice my disappointment and frustration. My husband and I can to you requesting that you draft divorce documents for us. You came highly recommended by google reviews, reviews that I now think may very well be doctored since the divorce is anything but 'Speedy'.
This was an uncomplicated and uncontested case. There was full agreement and cooperation from both us. There was no property division and child custody, support was agreed upon.
You sold us a nearly $100,000 JMD pipe dream of a 4 month 'speedy' divorce and now over a year later we are still waiting on the final documents. From the beginning incompetence and misinformation is a was a way of life in your kingston office. Your assistant admitted her predecessor did not file the initial documents with the court before she went on leave. 2 months later I call to find out that the documents were sitting in a drawer in your office. By April 2020 we were at the 4 months mark and still the first stage was not completed. No apologies offered no urgency placed on the case having paid your fees in full I reckon your office has no incentive to, as we Jamaicans say 'push it thru'.
Now I know you will use the ongoing pandemic as an excuse but if the filing was done on time the pandemic would have been inconsequential since it would have come to a close before shut downs were initiated.
Presently your assistant states that we are awaiting a Judge to sign off on the Decree Absolut which will once and for all terminate my marriage. I was given a 4-5 week timeframe for this starting on December 11. Now let's do some math. From the Dec 11 to Dec 31 I count 20 days this is almost 3 weeks. To be fair, we need to deduct two weeks due to the Christmas holiday. So that's 1 week down from December. Today is January 19th and up to yesterday when I called I was told that she ( your assistant) has no idea when the document will be reviewed and signed.
Now Oliver Llewellyn Esq. Having had over 20 years of experience in divorce cases as boasted on your website and that many 5 star reviews on Google why is it our hard earned money was taken and the sweet dreams of a 4 month divorce has turned into a year long nightmare? Why have we only been able to speak to your assistants and never to you? I know you must be a very busy and important man but you also have standards to maintain and contracts to fullfil right?!
Both my husband and I have significant others and all of us are good friends. I would like to get remarried and move forward with the next chapter of my life but that has been hanging in the balance. My filing has also been affected but no one in your office seems so care. I am now asking kindly to contact me or my husband and advise us how much longer we need to have our lives on hold waiting for something we could have obtained ourselves. His initials D.M and my google voice number (830) 542-8366.
PS. Your assistant has already has already obtained his consent that you sought after a year of rigmarole to speak to me onatter regarding the case. I'm not sure why this suddenly became necessary in a mutual uncontested divorce.
