A BOLD INITIATIVE – An evangelical, interdenominational seminary was launched 50 years ago with a faculty of four, and with five students. The opening of Jamaica Theological Seminary on January 11, 1960 at 1 Belmont Road, in St. Andrew brought to a climax approximately five years of prayer and planning – a vision inspired by God more than 50 years ago.
