QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography or Planning from a recognized tertiary Institution
- Specialized training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and or Information Technology.
- A minimum of two (2) years related experience
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of GIS software and application
- Understanding of GIS application in physical planning! infrastructure planning
- Oral and written communication
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Collect, input, analyse and retrieve data relevant to the effective use and operation of a GIS in the Agency.
- Provide plans, themes, charts, graphs and reports from GIS database.
- Maintain a spatial database of all the Agencies properties, land, project sites, road networks and related structures etc.
- Classify and process geographic information using standard Rules and established procedures and practices.
- Extract pertinent data relevant to the Agency's land information requirements in a form accessible to a variety of the end users.
- Analyze and retrieve data for research.
- Provides training to other members of the Agency in the use and manipulation of GIS.
