Knowledge of the Nurses and Midwives Act as well as standards related to health care organizations in Jamaica, and the Caribbean Standards of Education
Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
The ability to retrieve, analyse, synthesize and presents information effectively
Responsibilities
- Providing nursing professional development and education services by assisting nurses in preparing for contemporary practice and supporting them in acquiring the knowledge and skills so they can competently collect patient health data.
- Analyzing patient health data to determine diagnosis.
- Identifying the expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
- Developing a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain the expected outcomes
- Implementing the interventions identified in the plan of care and evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of the outcomes in the Critical Care Settings.
- The CEP will also be involved in the development and education services of the unlicensed assistive personnel.
- In carrying out his/her roles and responsibilities the CEP will be expected to work in the clinical setting a minimum of 75% of the time.
