Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized tertiary institution offering preparation in Health, Education or Social/Behavioural Sciences 
  • Certificate in Supervisory Management 
  • Training in Mass Communication and survey techniques 
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in one of the above-mentioned fields 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the practice, principles, approaches of health education and health promotion 
  • Ability to organize and coordinate training and other health promotion programmes
  • Knowledge of proposal writing techniques and budgeting 
  • Thorough knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • A sound knowledge of the behavioural sciences 
  • Good oral and written communication skills 
  • Proactive work attitude, good interpersonal relations and problem-solving skills 

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Organizing, coordinating, planning, implementing and evaluating the Health Education programmes in the Region. 
  • Planning and implementing school health education programmes in collaboration with parish staff. 
  • Conducting needs assessment surveys in communities and plans programmes in partnership with the communities. 
  • Planning and evaluating parish health programmes utilizing epidemiological data and approaches. 
  • Diagnosing community health problems and planning strategic interventions accordingly.
  • Utilizing various qualitative and quantitative methods to guide implementation and evaluation programmes critically.
