Core Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special procedures under the supervision of the Chief Medical Technologist 
• Prepare quality control material and calibrators 
• Assist the Head of Department with the development and monitoring of quality control programmes 
• Perform analysis on specimen for Hematology, Chemistry, Serology and Blood Banking
• Carry out the overall function of the department in the absence of the Head of Department
• Assist the Head of Department with reviewing, checking, and signing of reports
• Provide technical guidance to Junior Medical Technologist and other Laboratory personnel 

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited institution
• At least four (4) years working experience in a Clinical Laboratory 
• Laboratory general, specialty, or sub-specialty training 
• Current registration with the Council for Professional Supplementary to Medicine
• Certificate in Supervisory Management would be an asset 

 

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• Excellent time management skills 
• Advanced Knowledge of the fundamentals of Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, and Blood Banking 
• Demonstrate professionalism with patients/clients, lab personnel, and other Health Care Professionals
