Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Electromechanical Technician is responsible for the servicing, repairing, testing, and adjusting of electromechanical equipment/systems such standby generators, boilers, sterilizers, air conditioning units, operating theatre equipment, morgue units, laundry equipment and kitchen equipment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance by servicing, repairing, testing, and adjusting electromechanical equipment and systems such as system standby generators, boilers, sterilizers, air conditioning units, operating theatre equipment, morgue units, laundry and kitchen equipment
- Check new electromechanical equipment after it is received and before it is put to use for any damage
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
- Prepare written documentation of electromechanical test results
- Inspect electromechanical equipment and system parts for surface defects and report findings to the Maintenance Manager for corrective action
- Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools
- Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
- Repair, rework and calibrate hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances
- Align, fit, or assemble parts using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes
- Operate metal working machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures
- Assist with the testing/ performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems and/or equipment
- Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedules for electromechanical equipment and/or systems
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the Maintenance Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar capacity
- Any equivalent combination of qualification and experience
