To ensure that the MEP designs are at the highest quality of mechanical, electrical and plumbing construction standards and are in accordance with project specific cost and schedule requirements aligned with North American Design Codes.



Responsibilities

• Provide detailed code conforming MEP designs with complete analytical basis for tender/construction documents
• Achieve a detailed understanding of the Contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule.
• Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP Subcontractors during construction.
• Validate design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions.
• Assist in the receipt and review of MEP submittals.
• Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.
• Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order.
• Coordination and administration of MEP related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals.
• Liaison with Consultant MEP supervisory Engineers, Inspectors and relevant staff.
• Reviewing/Interpreting MEP engineering designs to ensure that the relevant minimum standards are satisfied
• Ensure that MEP Subcontractors provides and adheres to relevant Quality documentation/records.
• Assist in the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment.


Internal / External Communications

• Internally with Project Management Team

• Externally with Client / Consultant's Representatives (local & regional)

Requirements / Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5-7 years of construction experience with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing construction/installation procedures and practices
• 3-5 years MEP design experience
• Possess excellent Revit, CAD & Microsoft Office knowledge
• Possess excellent communication and organizational skills

Special Requirements / Features

• CSME Certification will be an asset
• ASHRAE/NFPA/IEE registration/certification will be an asset
• Good leadership skills with relationship-building skill with partners in the industry
• Good interpersonal skills and people management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• A Registered Engineer in local territory or country
