Company description
A dynamic brand under the Unicomer Group umbrella, Courts was first established in England during 1850. Founded in the region since 1959, Courts is the Caribbean´s largest furniture, appliance and electrical retailer. The company was acquired by Regal Forest Holdings under the Unicomer Group in December 2006.
Courts is well known throughout the Caribbean, and its name is synonymous with quality, affordable, furniture and appliances, flexible credit options as well as innovative marketing promotions. The company has been a market leader since its inception and its bright yellow, red and blue buildings dominate major towns across the many Caribbean islands.
Courts currently operates 93 stores in 11 Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana,
Courts takes its social responsibility seriously and the company is committed to the development of the people and communities that it serves. Over the years the company has touched the lives of thousands, through its sponsorship of education, sports and health.
Having served the Caribbean for almost 50 years, the company has spread its wings to North America with two US stores in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. These stores will serve descendants living in the US, who wish to send gifts to family members back home or purchase items for their own American homes. Immigrants will have access to simple commercial mechanism: for island deliveries, the customer visits the store where products are exhibited, chooses the item or items he would like to send, and Courts delivers to their family members through its stores or warehouses located throughout the Caribbean. Deliveries within the US will be made from Brooklyn and Queens store locations.
Courts in the United States will be positioned as an ethnic and nostalgic brand that will allow Caribbean people to feel closer to their homelands and families.
COURTS has touched the lives of hundred of thousands of Jamaicans for the past five decades and continues to give back to communities it serves and the wider Jamaica through its COURTS Community Trust and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. The company's main objective through its CSR programme is 'to be a good neighbor in the communities it serves and to be the company that brings sustainable value to the lives of our customers'.
The company's main areas of focus are: education, health, sports, and community development.
As a model corporate citizen, the company often lends support to a number of charitable organizations and participates in numerous activities to raise funds and awareness about a particular cause. The 29 COURTS branches, which are spread across the fourteen parishes are also very active in their communities and contribute whether through cash or kind to various community based projects and initiatives.

Faulty device
I bought a printer last week at courts in port Antonio. Went home, opened the printer set it up and went about installing the driver onto my computer. I use a macbook pro which is up to date. After many attempts and checking the canon website, there was no driver that was compatible with my laptop. I returned it to the courts store and I am being told that my money was wasted because I would not be able to return the item to get a printer that works with the laptop because the package has been opened already. The printer is of no use to me and I am unable to get back my money to buy another one. I need help. I have bought many things from courts and i have only now returned with a product that I am being told cannot be returned. NO REFUND, NO PRINTER!!!

Unfair
First this company I dont know if they are greedy for money but they pressure customers for payments, if you pay a little less than amount they call and mail you all the time threatening you about coming for the goods especially in this pandemic where alot of people lost their jobs or working less hours they have no consideration for the stress that people are going through right now all they care about is money not the consumer this company make so much money and no feelings towards the people that's making this company one of Jamaica most shopped store

Unwillingness to replace faulty machine with warranty
I purchased a washing machine 7 months ago. The transmission is blown, it is leaking oil, and the legs are rusted and will soon cave in. The customer service section keeps insisting on repairing this junk in the hope that the warranty will expire and I will be stuck with it. This machine needs to be replaced not repaired.

Service is unreliable and slow
I went to purchase a stove on 30-Jan-2020 and paid for a same day installation. I was told it would be delivered the following Monday to Wednesday, IT WAS NOT, despite my numerous follow ups. I had to visit the branch (King Street branch) on Friday requesting a cancellation and a refund and the agent made a few arrangements so I could get it the following Saturday.
Upon delivery, the team only brought the stove, no hose or anything for the setup. So I reminded them that the set up and installation was paid for. I was told THEY DO NOT DO SET UP.
So, the appliance was not delivered until a weeks time and upon delivery no set up.
Contacted the agent the very Saturday (6-Feb-2020 and was told they would send a technician right a way, it is now 3 days and no one has contacted me.
I am most annoyed and is now concerned about doing future business with your store.
I am not pleased!

Still waiting on Substitution List
I bought some items from Courts. They never called about my items so I finally called them and they told me not all my items were available so they would email me a substitution list. A week later I am still waiting for that Substitution List. Courts has my money and I still have no furniture, still waiting for this list. I keep calling the WhatsApp # no one answers. This is horrible service. NEVER AGAIN!!

Exchange of head board
My experience with this company is a pleasant one. The head board that I bought had several scratch marks. I reported it to the company to see how they would treat me (the customer). I was contacted several (many, many) times by the company to exchange the item. I told them that I would keep the head board and I no longer wanted an exchange. The company contacted me again several times after this about exchanging the item. Today, october 15, 2020 a gentleman turned up at my house still asking about the item for exchange. Again, I told him that I will keep the item. My experience with Courts is a pleasant one.

Terrible Customer Service
After being a courts customer for over seven years the service rendered was extremely poor. I purchased a HP Laptop and after two years I started having issues with the battery and the cd section. It was returned for repairs and after two weeks I received a call saying the repairs were completed. Upon arrival at the customer service area they were unable to turn the unit on to demonstrate that it was repaired. I told them that if I reached home and it was not working I would return it, however the person at the customer service quickly said yes I should if that was the case but she lied, no repairs was done. I immediately call the office and I was told to return it the following day. I went and spoke the manager on the ground floor at the oasis branch which was the worst mistake. His response was that courts does not cover battery after six months and that repairs was done to the cd section. What was the purpose of fixing the cd section if I am not able to keep the unit on to use it? It cost me over a $150,000 dollars for that laptop. I think at least they could have communicated to me from the first instance when it was returned. Instead they kept it for two weeks then deceived me by saying it was repaired.

Zero customer care
Took over a week to get bed delivered. The salesman in store was casual and disrespectful to my husband. Put wrong address on order, and took three days to sort out! When I called to see about the delivery, the call center agent would put me on hold for 10-15 minutes and the call would drop (NOT ONCE did they call me back, I would have to call in and go through the whole thing again). The delivery driver at 6:30pm on Friday night still hasn’t been delivered and we called to hear cuss words through phone. Seriously they don’t care about our time. One week waiting for items paid over $100,000 The absolute worst. Go ANYWHERE ELSE!

After 16 yrs as a dedicated customer I was treated poorly and disrespected
Purchased a washer which was no good. After reporting it I learnt same washers were removed from market a week after my purchase, as they were faulty, yet still they refuse to change mine after multiple reports from Sav to Kingston. I’m so disappointed as I had always been a satisfied customer all these yrs. Over a year later I am still waiting, still no response from over 30 reports made. The machine is just sitting in my washroom for show smh.
