• A Shipping Agent or Clerk plays a vital role in coordinating and facilitating the transportation of goods. They are responsible for managing shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs forms, ensuring compliance with international and domestic shipping regulations. Their duties include scheduling shipments, tracking cargo, liaising with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customs officials, and resolving logistical issues. They also communicate with clients to provide updates on shipment status and address inquiries. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods while maintaining accuracy and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Receive, register, and distribute packages and letters
• Distribute packages to customers with great customer service
• Maintain the company package room by organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items
• Schedule shipments and plan with the logistics team.
• Document transactions effectively
• Keep files of packages shipped, received, and distributed as per company guidelines
• Prepare regular accountability and distribution reports for managers
• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
• Maintain communication with other branches
